Working in Hollywood definitely has it's advantages. When I came to LA years ago, I was involved in many TV shows, documentaries, and short films. While having those experiences, I moved towards the event world which has taught me so much more about shooting in a place where you can't call 'cut'. Going back to a place which is more controlled, I feel very confident in being able to set up the the shot in which the director is looking for. I have made very solid connections in the TV industry that we continue to get calls to help out with shooting many types of productions. Last week we were asked to shoot a pilot about an Actress/Model who wanted to share her life experiences, add them into a show with family and friends, and bringing the element of cooking into the mix. I was asked to be the Director of Photography and with the help of my lighting guru Rick, the shoot went very smoothly. I appreciate the referral and hope to continue working on projects such as this. Who knows, if one of these pilots gets picked up by a network, we might be working on it.
